Anne Lockhart (born Anne Kathleen Maloney June. 6 53) is an American actor in the film industry. She's best-known as Lieutenant Sheba from the Battlestar Galactica TV series from 1978 to 1979. She is a daughter of actress June Lockhart. Her grandfather was an actor Gene Lockhart. Lockhart was only a few years old when she began her acting career. She acted in her first film when she was just four years old in T is for Tumbleweed. It was nominated for an Academy Award for this short film. The actress would often be seen on the set along with her mother so she was able to learn about the nuances of business. Lockhart also appeared in numerous scenes of Lassie. Joan was the only actress to appear in The Sixth sense. There is a rumor that Anne did not want to be Laurie Strode, the character in John Carpenter's horror film, Halloween. The character was given to Jaime Lee Curtis. Carpenter claims that Anne rejected his proposal to portray Laurie Strode. Anne did not recall approached by John Carpenter nor being offered the job. Maybe one of her agents declined the part on her behalf without ever informing the actress. Glen Larson chose her initially and then sent her a draft written script. The role she would take was in the TV series Battlestar Galactica, which aired beginning in 1978. She initially rejected the part because she felt that the character wasn't strong enough. Glen created a completely new character for her called Sheba, which was much more powerful. The first 25-page script was read to Sheba and she was immediately in agreement. The show ran for just one season. She also starred with Desi Arnaz Jr. Melanie Griffith Robert Carradine, Desi Arnaz (son Desi Arnaz & Lucille ball) in Joyride in 1977. In addition, she co-starred alongside Michael Moriarty as The Dark Tower in 1987.
